      Robbie Williams: Lovelight

Were you shocked / amused / elated / disappointed by Robbie Williams' latest single Rudebox?

Well, you can decide if this change in direction is good, bad or still ugly (although I quite enjoyed it live on Friday at Milton Keynes) by surfing on over to Robbiewilliams.com today and checking out his video for new single Lovelight.

I've no idea what time it will be uploaded but keep checking back, I'll put up my thoughts when I see it...

      Edit:

Okay, so I'm not an inner sanctum subscriber, so I only got 30 seconds worth of the video... not exactly enough to fully form an opinion. But here are my thoughts:

He sounds like he used to when he sang the high bits in Take That... silky smooth voice stylings, and there's definitely a Scissor Sisters vibe.

It's a cover of a song by Lewis Taylor and this version's smoothly produced by Mark Ronson...

      First thoughts: I like it.

      It's better than Rudebox.

      It's very different to Rudebox.
It seems like this album is going to be a menagerie of different electro-based sounds...

The video is dark-lit, and jumps from shot to shot... actually that's probably just my windows media player. Stupid thing. Anyway, I like it... But then I liked Rudebox when I first heard it too.

Lovelight is released on October 13th.
